I love mine, easy to use and not bad sound!

I am very happy with this product, I found it easy to use and mine has not broken. It's the perfect size for the dorm room or going to a first apartment. No, it doesn't have the sound of a $2000 stereo, but then, it's not a $2000 stereo.
Don't touch this!

Don't buy this machine! On first glance, the Crosley CD Recorder seems like a good idea. You pop in a blank CD, put on an LP, press a button, and your LP burns directly onto a CD. The only problem is that the burner will fail after a few days. Mine broke after a week. First it started making noises, then it began to skip, and finally it started to turn itself off after only a few minutes. Naturally, the warranty had expired. You are much better off buying a turntable that plugs into your computer. That way you control the burning, and you can also filter out the static, pops and surface noise.
Mine Broke Down Too!

It looks beautiful but as you know, looks are deceiving. I bought it with the intention of coverting by my vinyl LP collection to CDs. It worked fine at first. But after about 10 weeks of very light use (6 conversions), it started shutting off in the middle of a recording. It ruined about 7 blank cds.
I took it back to Target within the 90 days with a receipt and got a refund.
They guy in electronics there said only one other one was returned (it didn't have a stylus). They don't really sell many. So, it was hard to judge if it was a bad product.
He suggested it might need higher quality blank CD-Rs. I used Phillips and Imation.
I'm not sure I want to try again but I don't think so.
Also, unless you stop recording between songs, you will have two tracks per CD - side one and side two. Not a big deal but somewhat frustrating.

Works great ... once you figure it out

Let me echo the other comments here and say that this is a great CD recorder. The user's manual, though, is awful -- Sony should be ashamed for putting out a manual that's confusing, skimpy and almost worthless.

REMEMBER: Buy CD-R MUSIC discs, not regular CD-R discs (they won't work -- as the manual not-so-clearly points out.)

Outstanding

I previously owned an ONKYO CD recorder, which crapped out on me in about a year of frequent use (preceded by a year of very infrequent use). When it died, and Onkyo no longer made such a device, I bought this one. The ONLY trouble I've had with this unit is in recording CDs from CD-RWs using the high-speed dubbing. Simple solution, use the regular speed dubbing when recording from CD-RWs and, no problems.

I've never had a CD stuck in the unit. The manual, though not well written, is not as absurd as some.

My only fear is that this unit, and Music CD recorders, may become obsolete.

If you buy the first DVD player or replace an old one, it is important to know what is available on the market. It is also useful to know that some words mean – many of us think terms like HD and Progressive Scan impressive, but really do not know what it means!

The fact is, these days there is much more to DVD Players not only watching films. The newer models offer high-quality audio and video connections providing crispclear images and impressive surround sound. In addition to playing and burning rewritable CD mix MP3 discs can be handled, a couple of plays WMA (Windows Media Audio) files. Some players have a SACD (Super Audio CD 's) or DVD-Audio decoding of high-resolution multichannel music.

It 'clear that the DVD player ideal for you is the one that best meets your needs – they need the features that matter most to you has. For example, (if you still see!) AMany of VHS tapes then a DVD / VCR Combo is a good choice. It is much cheaper and offers the guarantee of a video player with music and better quality of DVD movies. You can use it to record TV programs on VHS, watch DVD movies and listen to the audio CD 's If you want to archive your VHS tapes consider a DVD burner, which is conveniently free tape recording that works like a DVD player sell. You can also back up your movies on DVD.There are a number of writing and rewritable formats, so you can use the correct drive for the right job.

If you travel a lot for a portable DVD player can be the answer. This is compact and lightweight and some also have two headsets, allowing more than one person to listen to offer the same time. Many of these portable players are car-friendly – with rechargeable batteries and some even come with features like power and auto cigarette lighter adapterassembly.

If you have an HDTV, HD-DVD is a high-definition format CD is designed to limit your viewing experience when using HDTV. Another option is a DVD player with DVD video upconversion, which converts the video to a resolution that is more in line with those of your high definition television. Signal remains digital as it moves through the connections to your TV for the cleanest possible transfer.

If your TV is Enhanced Definition (EDTV), highDefinition or HDTV-ready is a progressive scan DVD player is a possibility. Even if your current TV is not able to gradually your neighbor will almost certainly means that you have a great picture now and wants to get even better when you upgrade your TV. So what is Progressive Scan? Progressive scanning shows the whole frame in one fell swoop (as opposed to interlaced scanning, which divide each video frame into two fields), and thus the entire image is displayed together with lessflickering and clearer details. To see how progressive signals a progressive capable TV so if you do not have one when choosing a DVD player that lets you select interlaced 480th for use with a conventional TV or 480p progressive scan output for scanning compatible TV.

Most of the choices that the player is to make sure it has all the links needed to do with your other audio-visual equipment. Most current DVD players have at leastthree video connectors – composite, S-Video and Component. Component inputs are typically found only in the mid-price for high-end TV in recent years. The connection component provides the best image quality. If your TV has only an RF-style antenna input, you need an RF modulator between TV and DVD player for the installation. Similarly, a DVD / VCR Combo be useful because, as a couple can pass DVD signals through their RF output.

The current players have a digital audio output –coaxial, optical, or both. This allows them to send Dolby Digital or DTS to your receiver for multichannel surround sound. All DVD players include standard stereo audio jack for connecting to stereo receivers and stereo televisions. Some players also have built in decoding with 5.1 channel analog outputs for connecting directly to 5.1 ready receivers. Usually, these models also play multichannel DVD-Audio and SACD. Some players have advanced IEEE1394 connector (also known as Firewire or i.Link); This single-wire connections to make 5.1-channel music to a compatible receiver.
